Opinion Writing - Unit 3

Day 1 of this unit is where the students have to "flash draft" a speech trying to persuade someone of something.  As a class, we decided to try to persuade Dr. Stryjewski into letting us have a Math-a-Thon day here at Concord.  We brainstormed reasons to support this thesis statement with our writing partners, and then generated the first paragraph of our speech together.  The students then had to write the second paragraph on their own, giving a few more reasons to support their opinion.  4 students were chosen to read their speech to Dr. Stryjewski to try to convince her.  Check it out!!!
