A Day with Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement came to teach us today about our city.  They learned about the different zones in cities: residential, agricultural, industrial, business, and multipurpose.  After learning about the different zones, they worked together to build a city.
Meet Barb and Josh from Panera.

The students colored the blank square of their City Planner page with purple, for multipurpose.

Coloring the buildings for their city!

They built a city!

Playing "Piggy Bank Savings" - the objective is to have the most money in your account at the end of play so you can buy something special.

Account register - they all started with $250

This is the menu for the business each group is trying to open.  They were given $200 to start, but have to earn another $100 in order for the restaurant to open.  They have to answer questions about community, business, and money in order to earn the money they need to help start their business.
