Have You Filled a Bucket Today?
We read the book above today as a class. Then, we made a chart on ways we can be a "Bucket Filler" and ways we can be a "Bucket Dipper." We talked about why being a Bucket Filler fills our own buckets too.
After that, we watched a cute video/song about being Bucket Fillers. The link is below if you want to check it out:
Below is a picture of how we will recognize Bucket Fillers in our room. Be on the look-out for these to come home!
Building our Writing Stamina
We are enjoying this beautiful weather in the courtyard today as we build our writing stamina. I read some pages from the book, "Amelia's Notebook", and now the kiddos are writing like Amelia.

Math Station Laws
Below is an anchor chart the we created together as a class. We came up with laws we want to follow when we are working in math stations. We discussed what our stations should look like, sound like, feel like, and what to do if we have questions. We then began practicing using these laws while working in stations.

Straw Towers
Today we worked in groups to see who could build the tallest tower that stands by itself for 5 seconds. We discussed how we have to work as a team, share ideas, and how everyone needs to have a job in the group. After building the towers, we looked at each group's towers and shared what we liked about each one. Then, as a group we discussed what we learned today working in groups. We also talked about how it's okay to fail because we learn from our mistakes. I think everyone had a great time building today!
